A month has passed since my last post, and miss Em is changing every day! We had her 9 month checkup this week, and she is 20 lbs, 13.9 oz and 28 inches long. That puts her at the height of an 11 month old and weight of a 12 month old. Her little face and arms are starting to slim down as she gets more and more active. She gets around so well that I can barely keep up with her!
Emery can cruise along any piece of furniture now, and she is even brave enough to let go with one hand to move to another piece of furniture. She no longer needs a ledge, like the couch, to pull up on. She can pull up on the wall by just pushing against it. She can stand by herself for a few seconds, but we have to initiate it.
Her personality is changing too. She used to never cry about anything, and now she is using her voice to express her dissatisfaction with things. She does not like to sit still, so diaper changing and clothes changing are both huge challenges! She doesn't mind playing alone, but she doesn't like being left alone in a room. I'm not sure if it's separation anxiety, or if she just doesn't like being confined to her playpen if I have to leave the room. Otherwise, she is still a happy girl, walking around looking for people to smile at. At restaurants, her eyes will follow EVERYONE that walks by waiting for someone to look a t her. As soon as they do, she gives them a huge grin. It's so cute! She has also starting playing ball with Zoe. She will hand the ball to her, take it back, and hand it to her again. Poor Izzy doesn't want to have anything to do with her because Em steals her bones!
She has now eaten just about every fruit and vegetable, and she likes them all. She is starting to get small pieces of table food, although I would just assume her eat baby food forever. I am terrified of her choking. Her doctor told us at her checkup that her airway is about the size of HER pinky finger...that's tiny!
