Our sweet girl is now 8 months old! It's such a bittersweet feeling. I am so grateful for every moment and milestone, but at the same time, my heart aches a little bit when I think of how quickly her first year is passing. I know it won't be long before she is digging her chubby little fingers into her birthday cake!
This last month has been one of curiosity and exploration for miss Em. She is interested in EVERYTHING! She has perfected crawling and makes this adorable breathless sound when she is excited and in a hurry to get something. This of course, has led to a few head bumps and very anxious moments for mommy. As much as you try, you just can't protect them from everything! She has also learned to pull herself to standing. She can stand for pretty long stretches and even is occasionally brave enough to pull one hand away from whatever she's standing against to reach for something. She can take a few steps while holding onto something. So cute!
She is definitely developing more of a personality. Everywhere we go, people always comment on how happy she is and her precious smile. Just today at the doctor's office, I overheard the ladies at the reception desk talking about how happy she is and that they had never seen a baby smile so much. This was after she got her flu shot! Last time we were there, the receptionist said "There is something really special about her, and I'm not just saying that. She just has an aura about her. " This, of course, made my heart melt! It is amazing to me how much joy she can bring to perfect strangers. She rarely makes eye contact with someone without generating a huge smile from them. I just hope that she can use this gift throughout her life.
Here are some pictures from the last month. We love you, Emery Grace!
